The Library of Knowledge
A DoK Cantre is someone who consciously or otherwise inputs Knowledge into the human consciousness - DoK is an hypothesis that some people often or maybe all people sometimes, can enter data into the human stream of consciousness where it is picked up & becomes ‘common knowledge’ without the normal media-style channels.
So… I think what gets into the Library or Group Consciousness in a form that becomes DoK might be Knowledge that has been consciously fitted into a real universe, where the value has been assessed by the being, where the connections have been sanely made out to enough other pieces of Knowledge already in the Group Consciousness that the new stuff passes the test of whether or not it is True Knowledge.
I think there is another way to get Knowledge in there as well – convince enough people in the normal world that something is true and it will become accepted. Thus we have entire societies which fervently ‘know’ things to be true that we no longer accept as knowledge at all.
And I think the DoK information can be ‘overwritten’ if enough people come to believe either that it isn’t true or that something incompatible with it IS true.
I think that’s why, in the far past, Knowledge got encoded into Myth; it was a way of ensuring it would survive, that even when the Dark Ages came, the stories would carry the knowledge forward. And to try to ensure the immortality of the stories, they attached them to institutions which were supposed to protect both the stories and the knowledge of how to understand them.
So even thought the Church corrupted the Christ message and used it for power, the message is still there if one looks closely and the Precession and disaster stories tell the discerning reader what really happened in the past.
I wonder if perhaps there are two (or more) types of DoK though?
