Who Is God?

by Seeker

So just who is this God that so many people around the world hold in such awe? Browsing the internet and looking at the times of Enoch and the stories from the Sumerians, it seems a lot of what the Judaic religions think of God and his works actually emanates from earlier times.

The Epic of Gilgamesh predates the times of the Hebrew by a couple of thousand years. There is a case being built by people like Ralph Ellis that the Hebrew were actually the Hiksos tribe from Egypt, expelled when the multi-gods priesthood there took back their nation from the one-god tribe who had stewardship of the Necropolis at Giza.

Archaeology tells us that if Noah rode out the Flood, he must have done it at least eight thousand years before the Bible says he did. That was the time of the last of the end-of-Ice-Age floods.

So it would seem that the Judaic God is really an amalgam of the Sumerian Enki and Enlil. If you read about them they would appear to bring two disparate views of Man to the story. If you can accept the Judaic God is a combination, then the schizophrenic nature goes away. Enki tried to help Man all along the way – Enlil was far more judgmental of mankind.

And the strangely limited God is explained in another way as well. Enki and Enlil weren’t Supreme Creators, they were beings who held an intelligence, science and knowledge that was far above that of Man. There were family rivalries, emotional judgments and fallible decisions in their behavior.

But to the primitive beings that was Man in the time of the Annunaki, these were Gods, mighty beyond all and to be obeyed in all they said.

    Thanks for commenting…

I find I need to read carefully in the various scriptures - there’s a low signal to noise ratio in the writings so it can be hard to pull together the wisdom from the dogma and concealing ritual.

Mind you, some of what seems to be garbage might also be due to a lack of the esoteric knowledge needed to translate it into understandable concepts.
